Freddy Rasifudi is the Gauteng Provincial Coordination Lead for YWP and an award-winning Junior Lecturer in Chemical Engineering at the University of Johannesburg. He teaches Process Control and Transfer Phenomena and is pursuing a Master’s degree focused on wastewater treatment and pharmaceutical biodegradation. A published author and member of the Bio-Process Research Group, he was named 2024 Best Lecturer for his excellence in teaching. Freddy brings industry experience from his time as a Chemical Engineer at Transnet Engineering and currently works as a Consulting Engineer in the environmental sector, contributing to projects in mining, water treatment, water resource management, and residential development. With expertise in water treatment and bioprocessing, he drives innovation, sustainability and capacity building in the water sector.
