World Water Day 2026 Creative Competition
In celebration of World Water Day 2026, the Young Water Professionals Western Cape (YWP-WC) invites young people to raise their voices on this year’s theme: Water and Gender. Young creatives (≤35 years) across the Country are encouraged to share powerful stories, images, videos or artwork that highlight the role of women and girls in water leadership, technical professions, communities, and households. This digital competition aims to: Amplify youth voices on water and gender equality. Celebrate women shaping the water sector. Spark conversations about inclusive water governance. Showcase the creativity and leadership of young people Who can enter? High school learners, undergraduate students, postgraduate students and young professionals (35 years and younger). Posting deadline: 25 March 2026 Winners announced: 31 March 2026 Participants will post their entries on LinkedIn or Instagram, tag the YWP-ZA account and use the competition hashtags. My Water My Business
20-23 October 2019 This was the first ever conference to be held outside Johannesburg and Cape Town. The conference was organised in partnership with Umgeni young water professionals (UYWP) and it had a strong presence of participants from other African countries. The conference theme encouraged responsibility, accountability and inclusivity amongst young people in managing our water use and water resources for sustainable economic development. It also echoed the entrepreneurship side where young people could be involved in solving the water crisis through innovation.
