Sphiwe is a registered candidate professional scientist in the National Department of Water and Sanitation (DWS). An assessor/inspector for the Green Drop Programme, Blue Drop Programme, No Drop Programme and Institutional Performance Assessment Programme (IPAP). Sphiwe is responsible for performance monitoring and regulation of water services authorities/institutions with the regulatory national norms and standards in the provision of water and sanitation services. An emerging professional with a background in a BSc in Water and Sanitation Science. Currently, pursuing courses in Integrated Water Resource Management (IWRM) and Water Resource Modelling Framework (WRMF). On a part-time basis, Sphiwe offers scientific support to High School learners through the provincial adjudication in DWS youth empowerment programmes, including the South African Youth Water Prize competition (SAYWP).
