Thandeka Jwara is currently working for Umgeni Water, in the Process Services Department which is under the Scientific Services Division. She is employed as a Senior Wastewater Technician. She has been in the Water and Sanitation sector for over 8 years. She holds a National Diploma in Chemical Engineering (2019 Deans commendation for outstanding academic achievement), BTech in Chemical Engineering, a Post Graduate Diploma in Business management (Distinction), Management Development Programme (Distinction) and is currently completing her MEng in Chemical Engineering.

She has served as President of the Umgeni Water Young Professionals (UWYP) from 2018 -2020, President of Toastmasters International club (2017-2018) and is the current Chairperson of the Umgeni Water (UW) Peer Educators’ Forum. She is a Professional Process Controller (WISA- Pr. PC) and a Candidate Engineering Technologist (ECSA). Her passions and interests are Transformational Leadership, Strategic Management, Organisational/Human Behaviour, Mindfulness, Social Responsibility and Community Service as well as Advanced Wastewater Treatment.
