The 7th WISA YWP Conference is an in-person event gathering bright and passionate young water professionals (YWPs) from across South Africa. The conference showcases the best of YWPs that are leading the way to a sustainable and collaborative water future. It demonstrates the range of knowledge, skills and expertise of YWPs. YWPs play a critical role in bridging gaps across disciplines to change the narrative of siloed approaches to addressing South Africa’s water challenges.

The conference will provide opportunities for YWPs to learn, build skills and expand their network through oral presentations, poster sessions, workshops and networking opportunities. YWPs will leave with a broad overview of water sector developments and a clear idea of where the water landscape is heading. 

With the overarching goal of breaking silos and promoting multidisciplinary approaches, the conference activities will span five sub-themes (1) Innovation and Technology: Harnessing New Approaches to Solve Water Problems, (2) Community Participation: Empowering Communities to Manage their Water Resources and Sanitation, (3) Climate Change and Water Security: Building Resilience in a Changing World, (4) Water Governance: Strengthening Policy and Decision-making Processes for Effective Water Management, and (5) Water and Health:  Addressing Sanitation Related Challenges.

YWPs from different disciplines, backgrounds and levels of experience are welcome. Join us as we empower the next generation of South Africa’s water leaders.
